I've got an old F-250 plow truck and my Kioti and you'd be surprised how much I find myself using my 12 HP walk behind snowblower. I'll use the plow truck if short on time, but when the banks start to build I gravitate back to the blower, just gets the snow completely out of the way.

Spent some time today moving the banks with Kioti, it is good seat time though.

Here is some Ontario winter scenes, They were calling for rain and real mild temps this past weekend so I blew a path in front and behind the house in case we had a lot of runoff from the hill beside us, luckily it was only mild no rain, so no large runoff, but it gave me the chance to have some extra playing time mmmm I mean work with the tractor. Was moving the snow that had come off the barn roof last week & caught this snowy mountain sunset, actually looking east as the sunset behind me. Don't catch this color every day & it only lasts about 4-5 minutes. Unfortunately the camera can't capture the brightness of the color.

What a great thread. Here are a few pictures from here in Newfoundland.

#1 My answer to snow (posted recently). Blade and snowblower are proving to be a good combination, nicely outrunning my father's Kubota (which is about 15 years old, after all).

#2 is the brand new Kioti with its maiden ride driven by da wife. (there is a method to my madness, after all)

#3 - The right half of the house was what I built last summer to add on a spot for the tractor to be stored. (the extension accomodated a few other areas as well, but the project started for that need).

#4 View of some of the compound; last year's greenhouse project in the middle. I figured we could use a few green pictures this time of the year.

#5 - View looking west.

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one with a BH stored outdoors under a tarp.

Jon

great pictures, that sure is a beautiful home and location you have. great set up on the machine for winter work.....

glad to see your wife enjoying the mighty ck brute as well. my wife uses our machine a lot in the warm months and always offers to help with the tractor work, but she seems to loose interest very quickly once the "white dirt" has to be moved..... is this the case for you also ?

curious on the pic looking down on you compound...... looks to be quite high.... do you have a widows walk up on the third floor ? great pics, thanks for sharing

Thanks guys.

Bob, the bay shot is taken in the summer, that is just some wave action. It has filled up with ice in the past and the occasional iceberg, but not for some years now.

It is in this bay out by those islands where my wife and I have done our offshore survival training, spending most of a January afternoon in the water.

Jim, the high shot was taken as I was framing the roof of the new section, the peak being about 32' above the ground.

Adrienne is reasonably interested in the tractor (she's having another snowplowing lesson today), but prefers to let me do things with it. Her interests are more towards the finer aspects of the garden, greenhouse and house construction, which balances nicely with mine. :)

Cheers,

Jon

funny, a quick look and your wife could pass for Alaska's governor, Sarah Palin running that machine
