17' New Holland Workmaster 60 & 02' Kubota L3000F
Hey guys, not many Workmaster reviews on here so figured I would share one of mine after owning it a year now. Tractor now has 144.4 hours to date & so far I'm very happy with my purchase. After buying our new 48.5 acre piece of property we needed something bigger to use. So we started shopping & looked at Mahindra, Kubota, John Deere, and Massey along with my obvious purchase. All of them in the same frame & HP size. My choice came down to Kubota M6060 & the WM 60 in the end and overall I chose the WM 60 because of comfort & control lay out just fit me better. Anyhow, not a discussion between brands because I liked certain things about all of them but on to the review.

Problems,
- Tractor went into a 1500 rpm throttle limp mode twice in the first 25 hrs. A simple turn of the ignition off and back on makes it disappear. But obviously after paying the coin I did or anyone does that ain't going to cut it. Luckily in the last 120 hrs it has never reoccurred. I've been told since there is a new ecm update to fix this issue if it happens. Guess being a fairly new model it had some kinks.
- second thing was my voltage meter started reading low. Did this a few times around 50-75 hrs if I recall and would go off within a minute or two. Read someone having the sane issue & his alternator was bad. Luckily mine was only a loose battery connection. Issue has not came back since.
- Third, some reason that annoying beeper will sometimes randomly come on. Not often, but when it has it annoys the heck out of me. No codes, lights, nothing. It'll beep a few times while I'm running the tractor then go back off. Hasn't done it lately but I'll have that checked if it continues.
-Fourth, just a few random hydraulic connections have loosened and needed to be retightened. Not really an issue since this happens to any.

Overall, not one major issue to cause any missed work or a trip to the dealer. So far very satisfied with this and within 144 hours none should honestly.

My few complaints I would make is that I would like a slightly lower first gear for working certain things, and my biggest complaint is that after installing the 3rd valve function one of the lines comes out the bottom and sticks out like a sore thumb exposed. Which was one the main things I looked for when choosing. Oh well... But I did want that out there for anyone else trying to avoid that themselves.

Other than that I have been nothing but extremely satisfied with it and feel like it's a very solid tractor. Love how the torque comes on at low rpm's for moving big implements or starting off my 7' Bushwacker 8410 mower from a idle in some very thick and heavy grass. I've worked this tractor hard since I've owned it (never abused) with almost all my implements big for this size tractor. We have built roads, finished clearing 10.5 acres (behind a dozer), plant an 8 acre field with it, use the grapple to pile and burn huge pine stumps, and overall just help maintain the property. The loader on here is very strong and a big factor why I chose it as well. Even with my mower that weighs 1340 lbs and loaded rears It still will get light in the rear. Now I just hope that after making this good review that it doesn't bite me in the rear, lol. Anyhow I know y'all like pictures so I will attach a few photos to see it in action.

Picture of the road we built on the property. The picture in the sunlight is how the road was when. We bought the place. Still have about 500' farther to finish where our house will be.

2.5 acre section we cleaned with it that started with a big stump pile left by the dozer.

Few of the loader cleaning the hay barn, lift height with 1100 lbs round bales, and burning stump piles.

Nice pics and thanks for the review BMan. I guess I was fortunate that I had none of those aggravating issues with my WM 50 the 2 years I owned it.

I actually had an issue with the quick attach pins. Seems like they were not engaged deep enough in the bucket or implement and occasionally they would come unlatched. Found out after I traded it in that this was an issue with some of the loaders. Didn't happen often but just a few times. It was a pain to reattach my forks or grapple when it did occur.

I really liked my 50. It was the right size and had plenty of power and a great FEL. I only traded for the comfort of a cab and at 59 years old I really appreciate it.

Keep us posted with your progress on the homestead and the WM 60.

My few complaints I would make is that I would like a slightly lower first gear for working certain things,

This is one of the first things I noticed when I got my Kubota...1st gear on the Kubota is roughly equivalent to 3rd gear on my old John Deere and too fast for really tight maneuvering. I may eventually look into installing the optional creeper gear set. Should be stock, far as I'm concerned!

I haven't looked at the 12 speed Kubota gear speed, but what is your 1st gear? I would figure those 4 extra gears would lower it right on down. Btw, yeah my lesson learned, if I ever buy another tractor I will make looking into the gear speeds a priority. It will lug right along with anything hooked to it without stalling in 1st but these new tier 4 engines need to be run harder to burn off soot efficiently.... If I had one lower gear to match my first gear at idle speed it would be perfect.

Luckily very small picky things that haven't reoccurred. But will do, been disking my fire breaks this week, until I caught a stump and broke a hanger. Disk are sitting in the shop now until I can weld the hanger back. Luckily a easy fix with just a little time.

Here's the speed chart from my owner's manual. Surprised to see that the 12 speed low gear is just a bit faster than the 8 speed.
