Anyone ever replace the seals in a Nimco 10339-2S Valve Assembly? Mine started leaking in the cold weather during snow removal.

After doing a little research in this forum and others, and talking to a dealer, I think it is a common issue that the white (Viton?) O Rings wear out and need replacement. I took apart the front side with the control lever and found the bad white O Ring on the right Shaft. The left one looked similarly bad but hadnt started leaking yet. I measured the shaft and bore the oring seats in and found them to be 14mm ID and 18mm OD. This would call for a non standard metric O-ring (13.3 mm X 2.5mm Width, I think).

I have more snow coming and needed a quick fix, so after I couldn't find anyone that had those o ring sizes in stock I took a trip to a nearby dealer in NH and got raked for $40 for the Seal Kit. Before I finish the rebuild I will get an accurate measurement with calipers or guage pins and post their exact sizes for others to avoid this robbery.

The dealer recommend I also take apart the back side of the Valve Assy, because there are two more white o-rings on that end. The kits comes with 4, as well as several other black (Buna?) Orings and a couple flat round gaskets. Then he cautioned that I am careful not to take apart a sub assembly on one side of the back, because parts will fall out and it will be hard to put back together. He gave me an exploded view for a DL 100 Mounted Loader (Ref SL103337), and pointed to number 6 as the sub assy to be careful with. When I got home, I see that my valve assy looks different on the back side. The similar sub assy is round, not square, and only two long screws appear to hold it on and hold it together.

So I'm debating whether or not to tackle the back side after I get the front put back together. Any experience with this or recommendations are appreciated.

Several years ago I remeber an issue with the white sealing rings - they turned mushy. Apparently the reason for the failure was one of the "ingeredients" used to make the seal was bad. Installing a seal kit is very traight forward. One thing you might check for is wether or not you have 2 or 3 hoses between the tractor and the loader valve. If you only have 2 hoses, you might consider going to a 3 hose "power beyond" set-up. With the 2 hose set up any lifting you do with the three point will back preassure the hydraulic fluid to the the loader spools (basicallty the loader spool seals will see pressure from the wrong side of the seal). With the 3 hose power beyond set up the backpressure never reaches the loader spool seals.
