Nine inches of winter supposed to arrive tomorrow during the day

They downgraded us from 8"+ to 4". I really need to put the mower away, (it's serviced and ready for spring), and put the blower on the tractor and the plow on the UTV. I've been slow to switch over to the winter gear. I'll chain everything up after we get a few storms.

Lots of school cancellations this am.

17* and about an inch so far. Forecast is for 3-5
Same here. Storm not supposed to really get going for another couple hours. Still, we're a bit too far north and on the wrong side of the White mountains to get the brunt of it.

We got about an inch or two yesterday and about 4 to 5 more overnight. Can't remember this much, this early in the season in the fifteen years I've lived here. Time to get off my butt and get the snow bucket installed.

I don't know if it's just me, but it seems like a trend with forecasts deliberately over-selling the intensity of storms.

It seems like they want to be sensational or have people take precautions seriously.

They may get 'the boy who cried wolf' syndrome if they aren't careful.

I don’t recall a repeatedly accurate forecast from any source for several years. Agree on hype and sensationalizing with the BS about 150 million people affected… etc.

How many people have the all wheel drive with traction control that makes them think they are invincible? Seems like that is a big problem in this area.

I don't see cars stuck/in the ditch anywhere near as often as I did in the past. Even FWD makes a huge difference. I for one don't miss rear wheel drive one bit!!

Man, i can always tell a newcommer here…i see them in the ditches and the cause of accidents on the road after the first snows.

They should require newcommers to have a 6” orange ball stuck on their antenna for 3 years.

Back home it was most often a young guy in a pickup who found the ditch. They seemed to think 4wd and big wheels somehow made them immune to physics.

The wise ones always kept the bed loaded with bags of salt or sand. Some kept a tractor tire in the bed.

Be careful. In November of '93, I lost a former teammate to a blizzard. He left his car and wasn't found until Spring.

This has been my complaint for a few years now. They predicted 1-4 inches on Sunday... I woke up yesterday and the ground was bare. Today we have a warning with predictions of 5-10. I thought about putting the chains on but then I'd have to take the grapple off and put the bucket on. So, nevermind.

Accuweather is calling for 1-4 inches.
