No charging - 2013 Series F - Toolcat 5600

Picked up a 1700 hour 2013 machine. Of course in my little test drive at the seller, I don't run it long enough to kill the battery. I get the unit home, playing with it a few hours and the battery light comes on. Check it while running, 12.2 volts and dropping.

Fuse somewhere? Alternator? If it is the alternator, anyone had any luck getting a new one installed? Looks awfully tough to remove. Any tips?

Good grief, I just read the service manual.... they say you need to remove the cab to change the alternator. Anyone able to replace the alternator WITHOUT removing the cab. Removing the cab look like a 12 hour project. What a joke.

At least the G series Doosan engine is easier to remove the alternator. Here it is looking in the side access door.

Have the battery tested first. I had a charging problem go away with a new battery.

nothing give a error for low charging, figured a light would come on

Yes, I put a new battery in it.... mowed for 2.5 hours and then the battery light came on. Checked the voltage while running, same as the battery voltage.

We may customize the port under the passenger seat to accommodate the removal of the alternator.

thats crazy removing the cab for the alternator, what else is buried in that area one should check at the same time
