I've done something similar, but found that the Porter Cable pruning blades work a lot better. My wife loves using them around the yard to prune trees, and I use them all the time to cut roots when trenching or digging footings.

Good job on the tap roots.

Cut many a root, limb, or small tree trunk with my Craftsman C3 reciprocal saw. I can cut almost anything from trees to channel iron with the right blade.

Hi Eddie, I am gonna give this Porter Cable blade a shot. They look VERY aggressive and have the same fitting as my Milwaukee blades so should work. I will let everyone know how it goes. Thank you so much!
