Getting ready to do maintenance on my F3990 and I just realized that there is not a water separator for the fuel line? My B and my MX both have fuel bowls that show if they have collected water and you can screw them off, dump it and keep going.

My 2014 F3990 just has a basic white fuel filter....unless I'm blind...which very well could be.

Seems like the machine should have one...

My F3080 has two of the same fuel filters. One before the metal filter shaped looking item (I thought it was/is the fuel pump) and then the second inline plastic filter.

I'm a bit surprised by this.

I wonder if I can put an inline water separator that I could view and dump if needed. I haven't had fuel issues (knock on wood) but I would sure like to know by checking a sight glass than the machine running like crap or worse.

Sure auto parts stores, Kubota dealers, other tractor dealers, Tractor Supply and Rural King will sell the lines and connectors to cut your rubber fuel line and insert a glass bowl if that's what you want to do. They like selling parts people want to buy.

Yes, it is a bit OCD, but cheap insurance. It would however have the potential to effect the fuel pressure, so I bounced the idea off the dealership.

Now if I can only find a way to get my side discharge to work like your rear discharge JT!

YOU CAN. GET THE kUBOTA MULCHING KIT! By removing the side chute you can mow on both sides, the blocking plate keeps the grass from blowing out to let the wind blow it back on you and these are the two main desirable features of the rear discharge deck.
I bought a small Kubota Zero turn a couple three years ago and a BX2370-1 laast year and added the mulching kit to both and I was/am happy. Sold the Zero turn to my niece and she turned it over last week but no damage to her or mower but had nothing to do with the mulching kit. :).
If faced with the situation I'd gladly buy a side discharge with mulching kit but would never want side discharge without mulching kit. With mulching kit the leaf mowing could/should also be better than leaf cutting with rear discharge, maybe.

I added the newer Kubota B , RTV and others fuel filter, 3 connections, in, out, and vent to tank. Unscrew the bowl and an internal plunger shuts off the fuel. Screw bowl back on and plunger is pushed in and turns on fuel and if filter housing is below the fuel tank and vent is connected to tank it will fill up and and self bleed housing.

Kubota: Fuel Filter Assy, Part # 6A32-58862

Kubota WIX, Baldwin have elements, and Kumar Bros on Ebay has cheaper elements with the 2 O rings.

I have a filter kit, but needed to fabricate a mounting bracket, haven't had to change a filter since I started using a MR FUNNEL so haven't gotten around to mounting it. Mr Funnel rocks.

I visited with Ron yesterday afternoon and he wants his RTV back. He has a near new Cub Cadet brand neat "Looking" RTV and he will trade it to you for "His" RTV.:laughing::cool2:

John, I've added the speedometer, bed liner, upgraded the mirrors and added the hand throtltle kit, high air intake, and it has some dirt on it so I'm sure he wouldn't take it back.:D
