Ok girls and boys, I need help again. I ran the rats out of the console, only to have them take out their vengence on the foam of the tractor seat. Well more mothballs fixed that . By the way, the screen that protects you and me from the muffler was full of rat droppings. Going down the road, the air smelled of rats.

Wiring is fixed, I have a new starter. Cranked it up and ran it for over 1 hour catching up on chores. Shut it down with fuel shut off lever pull knob. Now, it cranks, but I am not getting fuel out of pump. I have plenty of fuel from hand pump, and if blocked with finger, rubber lines fed by hand pump will pump up to a guess of about 50psi. If break rubber hoses on top of injectors however just get a 1/2 teaspoon full every other few pumps. Pump or crank engine with ANY high pressure steel line removed at fuel pump and nothing.

Something of note: The last few times I ran the tractor, I noticed that when I pulled the fuel shutoff, and returned it while it was shutting in, it did not start running again.

So it ran fine, even 4 high and 20mph on way to field almost 1/3 mile away. Did chores, hosed it down, shut it in and above is what I have.

Suspect shut off valve. On the fuel pump shut off valve, is it a butterfly arrangement, a ball check valve, or what. I have my suspissions about the shut off valve because of above stated as not returning to run if I released shut off valve before engine comes to 0rpm. Our other tractor will fire back up if revs of only 100rpm if refed fuel.

With FEL it is hard to access pump, so before I start anything, has ANYONE had a similar situtation(sp) or know what I should do next?

Thanks

Guess inside, as I disconnected it from cable and pushed it as far against hand pump as possible while troubleshooting.

Make sure there are no ratz pulling on the cable!

Coyote, No there were no "ratz" pulling on the cable. Instead, since the placement of mothballs all over tractor, 2 boxes, the "ratz' as you call them have settled for "partying" underneath the chassic of tractor. This is good, as it gives me an estimate of how many of the little B there are. Attached hopefully are pictures of what they left after the cheese and wine tasting party. This is just what I could frame. The area is larger. I am estimating about 50-60 of the suckers. Click on thumbnails to blow pictures up for great resolution.

WoW! You need to do something to rid the area of the ratz! They will get bored and come back to attack your tractor if you let them. Can you find a way to eRATicate them?!
They are disease spreaders too, and disgusting rodents from he ll!:punch::fiery::censored::devil::yell:
KILL them all- with extreme prejudice.

OK, please help me on the fuel problem. If it is internal shut off valve problem, can the problem be solved by breaking down/ seperating the pump. I need to get this tractor running as I have to burn a bunch of fence line clearing before everything turns brown down here. Need bucket for cut large logs. See start of post.

The fuel shut off rod is sticking or stuck, some injector pumps have a small plate behind the primer pump with 2 or 3 flat head screws, if your pump has that cover ( you have to remove the primer pump) you can try to remove it, and spray WD40 on that rod to free it up make sure it moves both ways. You will see where its at when you try to move the linkage on the outside of the pull to stop lever. If you do not have that cover you cannot access that rod without taking the head off the pump which would require you to re-calibrate the pump. Does your injector pump have oil in it ? If not that's prob why this rod is stuck/or sticking

Have you checked the lube oil in the "in line" fuel injection pump ? If not I would try draining out the old oil and replacing it. If water has gotten into the space, the governor could be sticking due to rust. I have used hydraulic oil as it flow easily instead of engine oil (AW32).There should be a smal bolt in the bottom of the housing (6mm on my pump and use a 10mm wrench) to drain the sump. Fill using the vent on the top of the pump housing.
