No Go

I have a Bolens G244. It had a starting problem. It is fixed now. The problem I am having now is It won't move. I can put it into any/all gears and it sounds like the gears are not meshing and the tractor won't move. But, when I jack the rear wheels off the ground, put it into any gear the gears mesh, no grinding, and the wheels go around and around. Any thoughts on this problem?

Changing the hydraulic oil & cleaning the screen will not affect your problem. Does it work when you step on the differential lock?

If the clutch does not release it would cause the gears to grind and not go into gear. If the tractor has been setting for a long time the clutch can rust or stick to the flywheel. Be careful if you try this it may move, Try putting it in gear with the engine dead and then starting it with the clutch peddle pushed down. If it moves when doing this and you can get it started try driveing it in high gear with the peddle pushed down this could free up the clutch........Larry

(Kenmac filled hyd fluid) and ( Mopacman =I have no problem with it going in gear it is when it is in gear and I let out on the clutch and the tractor starts to move a grinding sound comes from trans./differential. ( Leonard What is a differential lock? Their is peddle on the side of the Differential and 2 levers next to the shifting lever. One marked H and L. The other with markings H,L,and M. Oh their is one more, marked front differential engage> disengage>. their is know drive shaft to the front end.
