That's highly doubtfull. I still have old pentium 1 166 and amdk62 150's setup as internet boxes for the families kids when they come over. each has a 56k modem and a 10mb lan card. Those old processors can handle multiple connections.

Heck. I have an old 486 dx 40 ( amd ) that ran multiple dial in lines on v.90 as a bulleting board.. serial data transfer is -not- taxing on a computer.

My first pentium, a pentium 80 overdrive chip, socketed into a 486 vlb motherboard with 64 meg of simms stacked on ram stacker cards is running win95 fine and is on a 100 md ethernet network.

Processor speed is not the 'slow' factor for data transfers... nor is it the HDD... it's still the network... that is still the slowest part of the bottleneck..

Yeah, if you see a 10-second delay, but the bottom of the page is saying "0.1 seconds" then it's likely a network delay of some sort. (There are so many places it could be. Either your ISP to you, or us to your ISP, or an internal-network router, etc)

Doug,
I found that since all those sponser ads were added the site has slowed way down. Every other site loads instantly, but TBN loads in chunks going down the screen, takes a few seconds to load.

I dont understand why you need so many ads, there are lots of other free sites that arent slowed down by excessive ads like here.

It's relating to the way your browser renders pages. Firefox and IE both will render the page differently. And it also relates to your operating system configuration.

As everyone who's posted the time the site is taking to loading, it's nothing we can do on our end. We might try new designs to help lower the rendering time. But I can assure everyone that adding the sponsors hasn't slowed down the forum in any way.

In fact, it sped it up in a round-about way, because at the same time I updated our caching system which gave us a big boost in speed.

I have IE 6

It does not happen on other web pages..
If there is any thing I can do on my end to FIX it PLEASE let me know
