no ignition power to JD 5425

Hello. I am new to this forum but have just experienced a new problem to my 5425 that I have owned for several years. When starting today, it turned over several times then everything electrical went dead. The instrument cluster remains blank when the key is turned on. The blinking hazard lights, which do not require the ignition switch to be on, seem strong and that is the only sign of life I see. Battery is good with freshly cleaned cables, ground, etc. I hate to think what it will cost me to have this hauled to my nearest JD dealer 30 miles away. Thanks in advance to anyone that can help.

Have you checked for a blown fuse/fusible link? When you state cleaned batt. cables do you mean ALL FOUR of the connections?

I did clean and check all 4 connections. I also looked in the fuse box and did not see any fuse obviously blown but did not know specifically which fuses or links would relate to my symptoms. Many thanks.

The power flow goes from the battery, through the positive cable, to the 125 amp fusible link, to 20 amp fuse F2, to the key switch. You need to get a test light or voltmeter to determine where the power flow is interupted.
