No Interest for life on X Series

Read the link, so what is "life", 2yr, 4yr, 10yr?

Looks like a minimal monthly payment of 2%.

If you read the fine print, and do the math, multiply the amount financed (minimum $8000 for x-series) by 2%, you get your monthly payment. Then divide your amount financed by the monthly payment (remember no interest) and you will get 50 months. That means it is an interest free loan for up to 50 months, or 4 years 2 months. Not a bad deal for a garden tractor. It also says that includes attachments, trimmers, blowers, and saws you buy with your tractor. Also looks like it applies to other units as well, not just the x-series. I don't work for Deere, but I do this for another company so its interesting to see their program. Looks like they have some catching up to do to make their goals for the year.

ha! Why didn't I see that? /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

1/.02 = 50 regardless of the amount borrowed. I think it is an excellent deal if you're looking to step into a new JD.

I think all of the vehicle manufacturers are suffering from less-than-expected sales this year. GM's employee discount is such a success that even Chrysler is contemplating it. I say if you need a tractor, and the X will do, now is the time.

Since the rumor is that Deere is re-vamping the L&G lineup for next year - and no one is spilling the beans yet on the details - I'd say if you like the X's, if they're right for your needs (as opposed to a SCUT), better get one now.

Cup-half-empty philosophy here today, but I've been disappointed several times lately in Deere's interpretation of 'new and improved'.

The biggest problem with the X seems to be the price. To significantly reduce that and make it more competitive - something's going to have to change - or go altogether.

Just thinking outloud, but possibly Deere will finally expand the 2000 class (downward) and while there might then be a nice choice of SCUTs, there might no longer be a ultra-premium lawn-and-garden machine of the X class and caliber.

Don't miss a payment -- finance charges of 19.8% then apply.

I think you'll see the new 2000 twenty series this fall, and the new lawn and garden line up (LT-GX) next spring. Thats just what I have been hearing from the dealers in Illinois and Wisconsin that I've talked to. I think the L-series will stay basically the same, and the X-series will stay the same. I think you'll find the other models to look more like the x, but thats just my pure speculation.
