The white stuff is really coming down as I type. Where was it way back in December? Ya gotta look at the calendar to make sure it really is April 24!! /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

We never got anything here. Looks like it was out Ohio and Michigan way. Boy thank heavens because the tractor is out back and if we got hit really hard I would have been calling my neighbor again.

We were pretty warm on Thursday. Chilly on Friday. Friday night we got a heck of storm. Right where we live, it almost forms a wind tunnel. The wind is always blowing, usually pretty hard. I've never seen it blow like it was blowing Friday night. Then all of sudden - WHAM!!!!! WHAM!!!!! WHAM!!!!!! It started hailing. Larger than a quarter, but probably smaller than a fifty cent piece (if you can remember those. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif) Then water started pouring into the bathroom. It had busted one of our skylights. With the wind/rain/hail coming sideways. It was driving it all right into the holes it had created. At least it was ending up in the tub, but it still rain down the ceiling & wall. Finally after the wind/hail stopped it quit leaking as much. Went up on the roof Saturday morning. Tried to tape plastic/tarp the skylight. Too much wind. I was able to get it dried enough to get duct tape to stick to the skylight. While I was doing that, I tried inspecting the roof, still too much wind & rain and too cold to spend too much time. Didn't see anything, but I talked to my cousin the roofer, he said hail damage a lot of times won't show up for 2 or 3 months. It drives the sand into the asphalt and then finally washes away and then you can see the damage. As hard as it was coming I was expecting to see the vinyl siding on the front of the house full of holes, but no damage there.

On Sunday, cold, windy, rainy, & snowed biggest part of the day. In the morning stuff was covered white, but enough warmth (about 38 /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif) and rain that it made that disappear pretty quick.

Now I'm trying to decide if I want to turn the damaged skylight and other damage in to insurance or just fix it myself. If the roof were truly damaged it would be a now brainer. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

About this time two years ago our area got hit with the edge of a freak late season freezing rain storm. Our 30 foot travel trailer was parked near the house under two huge box elder trees...and sustained $6800 worth of damages as the falling limbs crashed through the roof. The branches were still breaking off and falling while I was hitching up my truck to move it and a huge one demolished the air conditioner as I started to pull it away. HOORAY for Triple-A, I only had to pay my $100 deductible. Needless to say when the weather warmed up I took the trees down with my JD pulling or pushing the trunks after I notched them with a chainsaw. That situation helped me "justify" why I needed a tractor to my wife. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I know what you mean.
My wife and I planted 50 spruce trees (just little ones.) on Saturday. Snowed for the entier time, but nothing stuck.
Now Sunday was a different story. Accumlulation was about 3 inches, even though it snow non stop. Still had drifts this morning when I left for work.
But I still love Michigan. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
