The Class III Boomers have a main line fuse on the left side above the starter .... maybe that's similar on the Class II ??

Yes, my TC29D has the main fuse on the left hand side as sitting on the tractor.

Thanks for all the input, Keep it coming /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif I will go home this evening and look for that fuse above or around the starter. It sure seems to me like a fuse is out or the battery is shorted, so I will start there. I will let you know what i find.
Thanks so much for the input

Countryboy2, the easiest way to check for dirty battery terminals is to hook another battery up to your tractor using jumper cables. I have one of those carry around battery/air compressors that works great for this. Just clamp it onto the outside of your battery terminals and check the lights. If you have power, then it's either dirty terminals on the battery or the battery is DOA. If there is no change, then quit looking at the battery and check somewhere else.

To me, a jumper battery is a good quick troubleshooting aid when used like this.

Master fuse located on LH rear of engine compartment; just above the starter. Replaces the old fusible link on 20 series and prior Ford and NH compacts. First place to look when you have NO dash lights, clicking, or other signs of life and battery and cable connections are good.

The Main Fuse is a 30 amp fuse.

In case you don't have a manual...

Slots from the top of the Fuse Block

1 - 7.5 amp -Fuel Solenoid/Rear PTO Switch
2 - 7.5 amp - Instrument Panel Gauges
3 - 20 amp - Main Light Switch
4 - 15 amp - Rear Work Light/HST Cruise Control
5 - Empty
6 - 15 amp - Rear Hazard Flasher Lights
7 - Empty

I know this might sound a little too simple and I am not trying to insult your intelligence, but have you checked the PTO levers AND lights?

After the dealership dropped off my tractor (which included starting it to get it off the truck) and left, I tried to start it and nothing. Got the owners manual out, checked all the switches and levers and still nothing. Finally, I noticed that the rear PTO light was on even though the PTO lever was in the off position. When I bumped the lever back the light went off.

I haven't taken the time to adjust the switch, so the PTO light blinks on and off most of the time, but it will not start if that light is on.

Sorry! Guess I should read the entire post before replying. I guess if you have not lights, you don't have a PTO light on either.

There's a safety switch connection on the left side under the rear fender, I think just forward of the rear axle. I was doing some brush hogging and a branch kicked up enough to pull the wire off the terminal. The engine keeps running so you won't know when it happens. But if you turn it off, it will not restart. I don't recall if I still had lights when that happened.

Thanks, Ya'll are Great!!! Well It turns out it was the 30 amp fuse just above the starter. I'll bet I looked at the darn thing 100 times Sunday not knowing it was a fuse holder. I just looked at as if it was just a plug type wire connection and ignored it. Thanks for all the help. I installed a 25 amp and fired it up and finished a bit of loader work. I sure do appreciate all the responses I received.
Thanks
Mike
