Bx 2350
I have a bx 2350 with about 250 hours on it. Since it was new, the loader nor the 3 point would do anything unless I gave it some throttle. Do others experience this as well, or do I have a problem?

I have had two BX's and you will get very little response at idle. I never run mine at idle due to the vibration.

industrial diesels are designed to be run fairly fast; idle should be reserved for just sitting there, doing nothing. Once you hop in the saddle, crank it up at least past 1500 rpm, more if you are going to work the hydraulics or pull an implement.

My BX's have very little response at idle.

Since the BX tractors are so small they only have one hydraulic pump instead of two like the bigger tractors have, one for hydraulics and the other for the power steering. Their is a priority flow valve that takes the first portion of the hydraulic flow and uses it to run the power steering circuit, as the flow increases with rpm the excess then goes to the loader and the three point lift, so you have to be above idle before the excess flow becomes available for other uses.

On my BX24 I have to bump up the RPMs a bit. I was told this was normal and they were working on a fix for future models such as the BX25. For me as an old retired Army guy just playing on my 1.25 acres its no biggie, however I could see it as a problem for others.

I'm not understanding how it could be a problem for anyone. Sitting at idle and you want to raise and lower the bucket or 3ph???? Rev it up a hair and they move, what kind of problem? I must be missing some thing.

I don't "operate" any of our tractors at idle. About the only time I idle is on cool down before shutting one off.

I think that I missed that problem at idle as well, like what are you going to do with a tractors hydraulics when it's at idle? I mean it barely even moves at those rpm let alone do any work. The only time I would use the loader or three point controls at idle would be to drop them to take pressure off of the seals and it will do that with the engine shut off for goodness sakes.

Personally I wouldn't worry about it much, but thats just me.

I own a lot of construction equipment and all have fully functioning hydraulic systems at an idle. I don't operate my tractor at an idle, I just wanted to make sure this was normal. Apparently it is for a bx so thanks to everyone for confirming.

Yep, our GL and M hydraulics function at idle, but not the BX; nature of the beast.

Like I said it isn't a problem for me. However Llike I said I could see that it could be an issue for others (everyone has different needs and or wants).

Extreamly slow or none at all at idle would be considered normal.

I fire up my rig in the garage at idle. It takes approx. 15 seconds to raise the FEL and rear blower a couple inches off the floor so I can drive the 15 feet at idle (or barely above) out of the garage before I throttle up.

This was a design parameter for at least the BX24 and the other 50 series tractors (1850, 2350) - I had a BX1850 briefly. Don't know if the earlier BXs were like this, but Kubota changed something with the 60 series so that the hydraulics do move, albeit sloooowly, at idle. I do like this feature though it's not a show stopper. I like to be able to raise the FEL and 3PH just before I back out of my shed at idle. It's so tight in there, I have to move very slowly while I watch all around the tractor. Anyway, it is not a problem but just the way Kubota made that particular series of BX's.

Maybe you new B series owners can help me. I own a 20 year old B7100 with front loader and 3 pt hitch. I lost rear hydraulics. I use this with a tiller on a horse arena fairly often. Not real hard work for the tractor, but it is dusty and a weekly two hour event. Any ideas on no hydraulics whatsover? Front loader is moving, not fast, but say medium speed. i am not sure if I have two pumps on this tractor - -that would make sense with one not working at all. There was no puddle of fluid or broken hose or any 'eureka' item I could see.
