I just did my 50 hour service on my JD 2032R, I cleaned the transmission screen and the magnets as per the manual, after I installed the new transmission filter and finished the 50 hour service and was cleaning up, I noticed the same type of magnets inside the old trans filter but did not see any in the new filter. I called the JD dealer and asked them to look at a filter to see if they come with magnets or if I was suppose to transfer the magnets, they responded by saying their trans filters have no magnets and have no idea why mine did and have never seen magnets in a trans filter.

The manual does not mention magnets in the trans filter, only in the screen.

Any John Deere owners run into the same situation on their 50 hour service.

The previous 2 series (like my 2320) has the magnets on the screen and I don't think they changed that, so I would have expected magnets. The magnets don't come with the filter. You just transfer them. I would chalk up the discussion with the dealer to miscommunication, put the magnets back in and don't worry about it. Space the magnets evenly around the filter. They may have moved by the time you took them out.

Is the filter a LVA16054?

It's a LVU800097. $35.86 ouch, did I really spend 35 dollars on a filter.

Thanks for your response, I think you might of misunderstood my question, the screen has magnets and I did put them back, I was talking about the filter. When you say filter your not referring to the screen are you. If magnets go in the filter why doesn't the manual tell you to transfer them. You can't really space the magnets out because they attract one another. Unfortunately I noticed the magnets in the filter after the service and after I added fluid.

2032r correct? The LVU800097 doesn't even show for your tractor. Hydraulic oil filter?
