No more 4510-4710's ?

Re: No more 4510-4710\'s ?

Well I kind of like having side panels and a hood since everything can be taken out of the way for service work. With one piece hoods on the large JD's they are heavy takes 4 of us to lift it on the tractor, and then not as much of the engine is exposed. I don't think the new ones look that bad as others think but I do wish that the fuel tank was in the back. Had one of my city friends down and showed him the new JDs we have like the 7920 and then the 4310 and he did not really like the plastic on the new Deere's. Showed him the ol' 970 and 990 and he thought the metal was much nicer! True story happened yesterday.

I don't get how I amaze you? I know I don't like every JD product out there but I try to like them as much as possible. I like my cars fast and my tractors metal! LOL. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Um depends on what you're looking for - based on only the sketchy info available so far I'd rather have the 4710 over the equivalent Twenty series. Course then I'm flakey enough that I think I'd prefer an original 4700 over the 4710 (assuming brand new). Kinda ironic for someone who started out as a EE major that I prefer non-electronic tractors! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Re: No more 4510-4710\'s ?

If a 4600 with 2000 hours is still worth $15,500 then I would say your 4710 is worth quite a bit. Tractors aren't like cars where a new model makes the older models worth less. In tractors they still hold just as good of value.

Re: No more 4510-4710\'s ?

I would take my old 4300 or any 2001 4000 series any day over a new 4310 or so on. I like the tilt steer better on mine, the seat and the nice looking green kick plate they replaced with a ugly black cheap one.

Re: No more 4510-4710\'s ?

I was just having fun the other day and called a dealer and asked if they had the new 4x20's in. He said yes, so I asked him what my 4710, ehydro, R4's 460 FEL, and only 30 hours would be worth on trade. He told me expect around the high 15's..... /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif I thought that was pretty low, you guys? This dealer seemed pretty proud of the 4x20's and didnt sound like he wanted an "old" 4710 sitting around....yikes.

Re: No more 4510-4710\'s ?

I only got 13,300 for my 01 4300 in mint condition 122 hrs, 60" 7 iron mid mount. I thought I could get more but my boss said the compacts don't hold their value as well as the larger ag tractors.

My dealer told me he did not want any used 4000 series setting around on the lot and did not stutter or blink one bit by telling me so.
