Look in the lower left of the second photo up against the bank you can see the tread marks of his left rear tire...so I go along with the theory that he momentarily got distracted and the loose steering on those N's let him drift up on that bank to the left and the tractor suddently just laid over.....that is a narrow trail and with the loose steering it would be easy to do if you took your eye off just for a second.

Looks like that is going to be a tricky place to get the tractor upright again. Not much room to work with.

Glad everyone is alright.

With regard to the loader, I've seen a lot of older designs that did not have hydraulic down pressure. It's possible that as the tractor went over, the centrifugal force caused the loader to 'swing' out/ up.

I don't know about the loader, fordguy has a good point. It would seem odd the driver was going up with the loader way up like that. But, would it have swunt out and hit the tree that fast on it's own. Quite a mystery.

It's good he was OK, that thing could have rolled right on down the hill if that tree was not there! Yikes.

It's amazing how quick these things can go over, we can never be reminded too often.
