Well the tractor is back on line. I sheared BOTH left and right "half shafts" in the final drives. Thanks God Chip had the parts in stock and I was able to put her back on line quickly (been done about 2 weeks now just haven't had time to post). Thanks to all for the help ... Scozz

Looking at the shear faces ont he shafts.. see any obvious problems.. like occlousions.. etc... I'm surprise dthe shafts sheared so 'easilly' without damaging that sliding diffy lock /pin/hole arangement.. etc..

Scozz, that sounds like a very expensive week !! ? First steering, then rear axle !!
My father used to have that on occasion when forgetting the difflock on his Deutz D18 1 cylinder tractor, which he had in the late 1960's (tractor was built early 50's)
When ploughing with the 3 furrow reversible, with the 50hp Zetor 5245 i sometimes forgot to disengage the differential lock and just pulled it around the corner... Then i'm glad the Zetor has BIG ! halfshafts, unlike the little tractors of the 50's....
