My dad has a sign with a gun on it. It reads "WARNING WE DO NOT CALL 911". I think it effectively gets the message accross.

I've seen the sign with "Backhoe" instead of "Tractor". Makes the point a little clearer.

Purple tape marks trees for cutting around here. I have a not responsible sign and a reward sign. Texas is drop dead serious about preventing the occurrence and prevention measures are clear and fines are steep.....if you get the fine rather than jail time.

Gets the point across yet doesn't scream "I'm gonna kill you!!!" to prosecutors, DAs and amber-lamps chasing lawyers. And since I have 3 rifle ranges on my property, it's true.

Purple paint in Texas is No Trespassing. I dunno bout tape though.

I came up with what I thought was a nifty sign wording but my wife said it wasn't friendly so it didn't get posted.

I like the official looking signs as well as the we don't call 911 and similar signs. One guy near here put up signs warning of intermittent radiation hazard comprised of intense invisible ultra violet and other radiation known to cause cancer, glaucoma, and other visual problems. Some do gooder fearing for the safety of children who might trespass called the county mounties who came to investigate. The property owner said the intermittent radiation source was the sun and that the claims made on his sign were backed by well accepted science. The county mounty got the tongue in cheek nature of the warning sign and did nothing. I think it is a hoot.

I don't need a no trespassing sign to keep out unwanted folks. I just let my 125# black German Shepherd dog roam around and it keeps out everyone. That dog is amazing, he can hear a person walking down the road (outside the property) while inside the house with the TV blasting. He starts barking and then runs to the door, opens it up(yes he can open the door himself) and runs to the fence to intimidate the walker.

He started opening the doors himself when a puppy. I got tired of getting up to close them so I put on automatic door closers. Now he goes and comes as he pleases as long as the door is not bolted. He seems to know when the bolt is on and doesn't try to open it if it's bolted. He just goes to the door, turns his head to look at me or the wife and waits for us to in-bolt the door.
