Thats a Much nicer initiation than we got from We Be Lows to Boy scouts /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif Dave

Dave:

"We Be Low" sound almost ethnic. In Detroit, it's "Webe". you know, 'webe dis and 'webe dat'

Dave:

On the lighter side, I have a snowmobile friend who has a cabin in Waters and we go there on a very regular basis in the winter. Maybe you'd like to come over and fix us some food? None of us are very good cooks so we always eat at the local resturant in Waters.

If you are a really good cook, I might let you ride my snowmachine after a good dinner. I've enclosed a picture for your enjoyment. I must warn you in advance though, it's not for a timid person. It will run a buck 30 and 0-60 in about 2.5 seconds.

Daryl, I whip up a killer meal for a ride on that puppy. Theres only one problem though. I probablywont come back ! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif Or worse yet the boss will ride it and then I will need to buy two, and a bigger garage. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif You can see some of my recipes at www.jaysoutdoors.com See BBQ grouse, Venison Loin Marinade. I am always behind in getting out recipes. I have a few more to piost there. Thats been on my list to about as long as painting my garage floor with epoxy. That might be a fast machine but I garuntee we can tweak a few more HP after some of my camp Chili, or at least a little bottom end torque /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif Do they still have the Triple crown of snowmobile raceing ? When I was a kid we used to go to the TC250 The Thunder Bay race and the I500. wheew. That brings back old memories. Where is Waters ? Dave

Dave:

Waters is south of the bridge about 50 miles. They don't make that sled anymore, I think Arctic Cat had a big liability problem with it. It has way too much power for a mortal man. How's 180 sound to you.

Only 2 insurance companies in Michigan will insure it, Hastings and State Farm. I have hastings and they told me that if I ever dropped the insurance for any reason, they wouldn't pick it back up. I am the only policyholder with Hastings that has one.

Most of the time in the winter when we go sledding, I take my camper and pull the 4 place enclosed trailer behind it. That way, if it gets too crowded at the cabin, we have room in the camper.

Some friends of ours just bought a place in Houghton county, right on the Bill Nichols Trail. It is also known as the Firesteel Trestle Trail. They are retiring up there. I think they are nuts. It's nice to go sledding in the western U.P., but I'd not want to live there year 'round. There are trails in the western U.P. where you can put the throttle on the stop for 15 miles if you have the guts or should I say a "dumb thumb"

Gary, we have a wood stove in the dining room and cook them(Pudgy pies) inside sometimes in the winter(gets a little warm in summer)! I never knew the name of them either.

Dave, we used too cook thoses meals in aluminum foil down here(well we still do) we always called them hobo dinners.

Dave:

The Walleye New Orleans sounds just right for me and the guys. I think that after and before dinner drinks will be Capt'in Morgan Parrot Bay and orange juice, on the rocks, naturally /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Why "Dixie Dave"?

Daryl, Sorry for the confusion, The other Chef ( Dixie Dave Minor ) has posted more recipes than I. Currently I just have up the Greek venison loin marinade and the BBQ Grouse, which works great with chix as well. Dixie Dave has a restaurant you should give a try on your way up north. Exit at Birch run and go Right. His place is on the First Cross street on the right hand kitty corner. I cant remember the name of it. The deer blind I have been waiting on from Texas all summer arrived last weeekend and thanx to the assistance of the tractor and good neighbors we got it up in no time. I got some good photos to post. By your drink choice I am wondering if you are a fellow parrot head ? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif PS We had snow for the guys on the opening day of Bow season....YIKES ! Dave

Dave:

I most certainly like to "Set sail with Capt'in Morgan", but only when I have settled down for the evening. That "liquid courage" can be fatal!!!!

It was almost a ritual on the way up north, to exit at Birch Run and stop at Tony's for a killer breakfast. However, Tony's food has become less than desirable the last few years.

I have included a picture of my "portable digs". I attach a 4 place enclosed trailer on the back, for the sleds.

Nice truck, nice camper but I especially like your barn Daryl. The one in the background with the arch-trimmed door. How old is it? I tried to replicate that style in my mini-barn and our eventual pole barn will be similar /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
