Northern Tool Cordless Impact Wrench

FYI, been looking for a gift and found Northern Tool's 24v cordless impact wrench on sale for 99 bucks. It's 1/2 inch and includes 2 batteries and gets terrific reviews. Thought I'd call it out. The others I've looked at are about 3x's as much. The torque is not huge but should do the trick. Free shipping also.

We bought a set with the impact wrench and a 24 volt drill with charger and 2 batteries last Christmas for my son for $119. It might be worth a look. I know I can get replacement batteries at Sears, I've never been sure about Northern tool.

My wife bought me the 3/8" version about two years ago. I was appreciative but skeptical because is wasn't one of the expensive popular brands. I actually am impressed. It seems to have plenty of power and the batteries hold their charge a long time.

I'd buy another without question.

Yes there are 1/4 inch, fairly common actually.

I imagine you'll be happy with it, as long as you never need any real power. 210 ft. lbs. is pretty weak. I've had two 120v electrics and one air half inch impacts with 210 to 250 ft. lb. ratings and found some lug bolts (just on cars, not tractors) that they wouldn't loosen, riding lawnmower blade they couldn't loosen, etc.

Dave, if you have an air-compressor, most half inch impacts will have twice that amount of power or more. The one air impact I had that was rated that low was a Harbor Freight (Central Pneumatic) that I bought about 1980. And as a full time RVer for a few years, I carried an electric impact because the RVs had generators, but my little 2 gallon air compressor wouldn't run an impact wrench.
