There's not many put there because not many people want them. I'm sure they will do, but I'd look to a major brand. I would never by a tractor out of a magazine or an online store for that matter. Go to a dealer in your area. Pay a little more and get quality and quality service. Nothing against them, I just wouldn't buy one.

We looked at one online also, but nobody had one we could test drive, so no sale.
We went with mahindra

I don't believe anyone was bashing nortrac tractors, (specificly) most of us that use our tractors to make a living, know for a fact that they just don't hold up, for a comercial buisness.

You say you won't own one then say it won't hold up, how do you know? Wonder if the chinese use them for comercial business?

most of us that use a tractor hard, would be laughed off a customers property for showing up on a job site with something like the chineese junk thats out there.

I have to ask would this be considered bashing, or is it factual data :confused2:
I have experience were our township was very interested in both my machines and very impressed with how they handled the work they threw at me. I would put my machines up against any others, same type{hp weight etc...}

the 1st. chineese tractor I had dealings with when you needed a part you had to take a photo for the failed part. Because they fix a problem part, in the production prosess, which makes it hard to ever get that part, to get you going again.

Please explain with actual parts, machine that needed them etc... then maybe I could better understand. As of now this statement screams overall bash, supported by overall BS.

with my buisness I can't wait 6 months to get a replacement. even you as a tractor owner should understand that!~ thats what I was up against 7 yrs. ago, and will not make that mistake, then or now and the future.[

Again support with some actual data, not an overall load of garbage. Yrs ago kubota and others were being knocked also, by the same ignorance that is happening here. I enjoy opinions that are based on nothing, they crack me up
I have never gone more then 4 business days without receiving a part.

It's your money you do what you want with yours and I'll do what I prefer with mine. Ignorance,,I think not,, just have the experiance to know better in buisness.
But sorry to have steped on your toes.

Exactly, it's money, and being a business man as you write, then getting the most out of it is what makes the business. The bashing of these tractors has nothing to do with your business though. If you want to eat steak and lobster every day while I choose to bring PB and J it doesn't mean I won't survive, just a different way of survivng. I honestly believe from your post, you intentionally just came to this thread to bash and truely have no idea about jinma, nortrac's, chinese tractors......

PS: My post is not an attack on you personally. It is merely an observation I have noticed. I'm not sure exactly why we humans feel the need to attack something we don't understand. Maybe its a defend mechanism to protect what we allready have or maybe it's just plain jealousy that someone did better? Whatever the reason/s we all do it and from what I have seen many times it does cost us one way or the other.

I've found it interesting that several people that have seen my tractor up close and even used it were very impressed with its power. One put it well when they said it was "pure power and not fancy extras." These were people that owned and worked with / on some of the big names.

That was the entire point of me asking, does this place even have any GT's?
I see them listed as a category but can't find any, you seem to know your way around so I asked you, now would you like to give me a serious answer?

Sorry 'bout that Devin. I don't believe there are any specific GT forums here on TBN, but you can try here.

Just to put my two cents in here, I would like to note I purchased an 08 Jinma 254 about two years ago and I love it!!! I had a few little issues all related to assembly, also had to replace the three point valve, I just added a FEL from Coldwater Tractors and absolutely love it!!!

I grew up around every brand of tractor ever built and I must say that my little china tractor can hang with the best of em!!!

I won't bash any brands, they all have their flaws. Let's just face it as the economy goes down the drain so does the quality of EVERYTHING!!!

I was fortunate to visit the Foton plant this year and I can say the quality is much higher than the Jinma. The engines in the 40 and 50 HP are built by the same company that builds for JD and Bobcat.
No, they are not JD, but for the money they have a reliable track record and lots of testing behind them.

JD's tractor engines are either made by JD or Yanmar - Bobcat's tractor engines are made exclusively from Daedong, which is also Kioti. Bobcat and JD do not share engine manufacturers, so I don't see how this is possible.

I bet I'm one of the only members here that have actually heard of Belle Plaine. Any uncle - now deceased - used to work in a shoe store there. His wife - my godmother - has since relocated to Austin.

Sorry, but you are mistaken. JD was at the Xinchi plant where the engines are made the same day I was there. They have some of there engines made there for them.
Xinchi has also partnered with SWTI in TX to design and build a new EPA 4 engine that JD is looking to use.

To be fair, the Chinese have created a rather incestuous relationship between/among what once were considered "American brands". In-country, they have business associations with DaeDong (Korean), Yanmar (Japanese), Foton (Chinese) and a ****pot full of other familiar names. But not all those relationships extend to products currently sold in the USA. Next week? Next year? Undoubtedly. But for the present, I think Martian is correct.

Plus, John Deere has had a presence in China for several years. I don't doubt you saw a JD rep during your visit. There are quite a few agricultural collaborations over there, on products that are not currently sold in the USA.

Welcome to the forum by the way!!

What I discovered when I was first looking at Chineese tractors. Someone tried to tell me that the tractor he was showing me used the same engines as John Deere's , even showed me a great 'JD' stamping on the engine block. Of course what it was was a stamping for Jiangsu Jiangdong engine company which uses the 'JD' stamp. Coincidence??????????. Maybe to mislead any unknowing souls. Although would not surprize me if JD (green) would be looking at Chineese engines.

For the record, I do not care where my engine comes from, but from what I know, JD has their own assembly in Mexico or Waterloo where they build most all of their engines, except the ones made by Yanmar, which are made in Japan. My 110 and 3120 engines were made by Yanmar in Japan, the 5410's was made at Waterloo in the USA. I've never heard of a JD engine coming from China. The only JD engine coming from China I know of is the gas engine in the 825i Gator. Maybe that is what you are talking about.

Wish you all didn't stop this discussion. I was learning a lot about Nortrac tractors, the most bang for the buck I've found in my searching so far. They sound like generally stout work horses without the bells, whistles, and labels that jack up the prices on some of the "typically" respected and coveted tractors have. I may have found my tractor. Thanks :cool2:
