Apparently this varies a lot. On my JD 950, it easily raises the front wheels off the ground with the bucket level. I do that to remove a wheel if I get a flat (after putting blocks under the axle /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif).

I do on mine. At the level angle, my loader is already at the bottom of it's travel. I put the cutting edge down and no problem. John

nharrold,

Are doing this on a concrete floor? Interresting, If I had to do this on the concrete floor of my shed I would probably end up hitting the wall at one point! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I too prefer to lift the front end of my JD4110 to remove the MMM. It's just easier that way. I lower the loader on the floor and then curl the bucket to lift the front of the 4110. It can lift it pretty high too! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

HI folks,

After reading a post here a month or so back, I got to thinking:

If using the FEL to raise the front axle "a few inches" makes removing the MMM easy - wouldn't raising the front axle "a few more inches" make things even easier????

SO...I use a 3 - 4' long piece of 8" x 8" beam under the bucket (left horizontal) - and can pick up the front wheels enough to allow the wheels to pass over the top of my 54" mower deck. The front axle also hangs loosely - so it's easy to move the MMM's guide wheel posts past the front tires.

Bigger MMM removal pics HERE.

I only lift the front like this to get the MMM under - I lower the front down again and make all my PTO / lifting connections. I also use the same 8"x 8" beam - standing on end - to keep the FEL securely up - while I make the front connection for the MMM.

Cheers,

Dan

Doug, I went to the same dealer that you did in Orange County and we were looking at the same tractor that you were. The owner was knowledgable and was very nice, but after driving the tractor for awhile we went to talk business. We were told basically the same amount that you were and that the price was only good till the end of the month. ( steel prices are going up and the manufacturer is rising prices, this was last December)We looked at the Massey over in New Hampton, Great bunch of guys, good product, again knowledgable on all tractors, BUT their pricing was WAY off base. We checked out Pine Bush Equip. Could not get any help because we were to small, gotta buy the $60,000 and up stuff in order to get a sales persons attention, but we finally got a price on a Kubota 7610 and 7800 after our sixth attempt there. (I dont think I should bend over backwards so they can honnor me buy selling me a tractor) We even checked out John Deere down in Chester, But that is as far as I will go with that experience, still having nightmares. So in the long run we took a trip over to Marshalls Equipment over in P.A. Talked to the owners son Earl and after talking with him and driving a new 7610 for an hour off and on we bought it. The sales dept. was great, warrenty work is good,(stripped turnbuckel on 3ph) the price could not be beat by anyone and best of all NO SALES TAX. I will admit I too really wanted to support the local guy and do business with them but you can take so much from people who act as if you are bothering them, not answering your questions, not allowing you to start the tractors (causes unneccary wear on engine was the excuse)and just plain rude sales people who bad mouth the competition and lie about their product. Even with those complaints and more I was still willing to do business with them,UNTIL I saw the price difference in P.A. We were not talking hundreds of dollars but $2,800, Thats more implements for the same price, So off to P.A. we went and we will never regret our decision again. So Good luck in your search! John

John, I tried to save you the trouble. I've made many posts here on TBN bout the southern tier NY dealers.

I did purchase a mower at Chester. That's gonna be it though. And only because I didn't know any better.

I try, with only moderate sucess, to keep it from bothering me.
