Not so good movies

Hey, some people like that mess about wars in the stars too.

I can remember watching the first Star wars in 1977, and I arrived late to the movie, by myself, mainly because I didn't think it would amount to much, However i couldn't wait to make a date with a girl so I could go back to see it again and have someone to watch it with ( mostly an excuse, as I would have watched it by myself if I had to). I watched it 4 times that year. Yes, I was that impressed. The special effects seem like old hat now, but at the time, it was impressive.
At least to me.

He could be referring to "Battle Beyond The Stars" (1980). I enjoyed it... basically 'The Magnificent 7'/'7 Samurai' in SPAAAAAACE!

I just watched Hopscotch (1980) for the first time. I thought it was a rather mediocre silly comedy.

At one point, the main character claimed his will left everything to "The Flat Earth Society." I thought that was a more recent internet joke. I didn't realize it was around forty years ago.

Thanks for posting that. I thought it was funny. It kind of had shades of Napoleon Dynamite.

I would add "How The West Was Won" to the list. Too many logic errors--Taking the wrong fork in the river and running miles of rapids. Rescuing an individual traveling in the opposite direction a day or two after he spends a night with them.

If you're in the mood for a stupid movie, Road House (1989). It stars Patrick Swayze as a bouncer in a bar where they do more fighting than drinking.

If you don't take it seriously, I thought it was fun.
