now got a mix from a shelter-still going strong.
Sorry about your loss. We also have some older horses in our group. The oldest is 31 and the next is 29. My wife has owned the oldest since she was 5. Both are getting hard to keep no matter what we do. I catch the oldest laying down out in the field alot these days. I figure one morning on finding here gone in her stall but she keeps fooling me with her morning greetings. One of the hardest to deal with was a stunning seven year old Arabian mare that had an invasive tumor in her nasel system. Two ops and it would still come back so we kept her on meds until she got laminitis from the meds then put her down. But like a dog the best way to get over this is to get a new one. My wife said why don't we go to a horse rescue. I'm not sure, yes it's good for the horse but I really want to stick to quarters and ones that are bomb proof. I'm not a horse man, I just love them and know how to take care of them.
