Well, it may be a tough decision but at least you can be confident that which ever you choose you're getting a fine tractor. I like decisions were there is no possibility of a mistake. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Chemisrski,

You said you have climbed all over both of them but have you operated either of them? Do you have a preference over the different HST pedal layout. What about the layout of the other controls?

If the tractors are truly equal for you, what about the implements you will be using such as a mower or front end loader. How do these compare by brand for ease of use, attaching/detaching?

I think you will be happy with either one. If I was totally convinced that everything about the tractors and dealer are equal, I think I would go with the closest dealer.

I know which one I'd prefer...but saying it wouldn't help the decision one bit.

Good luck...either tractor is a prize.

A think I don't like about the smaller Deere's, at least the ones I've seen, is the proximity of the hydraulic hoses to the ground. Look at what's hanging down under each one and think about your worst case of needing more ground clearance. Can you rip, bend, tear or otherwise destroy anything on either machine using in the intended manner and place?

It was 50/50 split on everything. JD better finance deal, Kub a little cheaper. JD dealer a little closer. Both dealers were great to talk to and seemed liked greater dealers. Other than the placement of the forward/rev pedals, height of the ROPS and where the fuel cap is if you painted them both grey, I couldn't tell the difference. Finally score tally between the two tractors: 50.01% Green 49.99% orange. So today I signed up for the Green /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Now I cant wait to get that baby onto the property. To everyone Thanks for all the help

On some of the John Deere Models, I found that the FEL controls fell right to hand without having to stretch forward as on the Kubota.

You might look at some used, low hours units as well.

Do both have locking rear differentials? When I tested a BX1830 Kubota, it was very easy to get it in a spot on uneven terrain where one wheel was left in the air. When this happens on my 4010, I just stab the diff lock and get going.
