That's the same set of specifications we got with our first daughter. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Congratulaions to all. Go out and by something big!!! A tractor would be nice. Just think of the playground you need to build now!!!!!! Holes to be dug, mulch to move in and lumber to carry!!!!
Take care!!

( Of course I know that you wouldn't dream of spoiling your grand daughter would you??? )

Steve,

Long before today, I had warned my son and daughter-in-law that I was invoking a grandparents right to spoil the grandchild as much as I wanted.

But I also quickly added that it was going to be the GOOD kind of spoiling. I told them that I expect to spoil her with so much love, that when they ask her where she'd like to go, she says without hesitation, "To grandpa Garry's and Grandma Jennys' house, because they do things with me!" /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

( Most babies look very similar, so I think this should give you the general idea )

Jerry,

Thanks for the reminder! /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif It's been awhile. Actually, Tom told me that Teagan never even made a whimper the entire time they were man handling her. I warned him that she might be saving it all up until later. I also reminded him that was one of the good things about being a grandparent - we can give them back to their parents if they're not behaving.

But my little grandaughter would NEVER misbehave anyway, right? /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

( Kids are one of the very best things in life. )

Jerry,

You're absolutely right! But I have a feeling that grand kids might just be one of the most FUN things in life, along with being one of the best things! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

( Her mom (whom I love dearly) was quite a pill, so its payback time )

Dozernut,

I know what you mean. My son certainly made our life "interesting" when he was a teenager. But I guess just hearing him say things like, "Boy, how did you and Mom ever put up with me?" or "Now I see what you were trying to teach me." or just simply, "I'm really sorry for how I treated you guys back then." is more than enough to make up for payback. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

( That granddaughter is quite likely to cut into your golfing time. )

Bird,

You're probably right. And that'll be one of the few things that I will allow to cut into my golf time! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Unfortunately, I'm afraid that it may not happen as often as I'd like. What with Tom being in the Navy, we have a feeling that we're not going to be seeing them nearly as often as we'd like. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

( Go straight to a nice tractor dealership and just buy one or two. )

Mike,

That's a not a bad idea. Heck, I've tried just about everything else anyway. Guess it couldn't hurt to try this one too! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Garry congratulations on the new addition, sounds like becoming a granddad has put you in a whole new perspective. There goes all that extra golf time that you used to have /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thanks Gary! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

It's not what I'm going to call myself as a grandparent. It's what my grandaughter will call me.

Although I must admit I believe that I would prefer Grandpa, I guess I've reached the point where it really doesn't matter what she calls me. If whatever term she ends up using makes her relate to me, and it's used because she cares about me, I'll be happy with whatever she calls me.

Gee, that sounds kind of Grandpa-ish , doesn't it? /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Congrats on the new member to your family. My new son....now 2 weeks old.....has my dad jumping to get down here. He wants to wait for better weather before he makes the drive. He will probably be driving by you......coming from Antigo WI. He likes to go down though Madison and into Rockford Illinois rather than though Chicago. He hates the traffic. Congrats again!

Yup. He'll be going right by Janesville. Tell him to stick his arm out the window and wave. We might just see him! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
