Looks like the payload capacity might be severely limited due to the presence of the gassifier and firewood supply in the bed of the truck.....

Years ago the University of Maine converted a long bed S-10 so that it was solar powered. It was pretty interesting, although probably not much fun when it started raining. :D

I did an engineering paper on wood gasification for automotive use back in college...

There are still some rolling stock around and one guy in Scandinavia had converted even some modern cars...

There is quite and art to it... the old Model A Fords caught my eye in another video... just a chip of the old block.

FYI, this is the same principle that newer wood stoves and wood boilers use to actually be much more efficient. All that creosote that the old stoves made is what the "new" (and I hate to say it) EPA stoves now burn instead of having it go up your chimney.

My neighbor's syrup evaporator uses gasification. It's about as big as my pickup. I just came across that article while looking for something else and think it's pretty interesting.
