Now What ?

Just saw this thread and thought I would share that many tow companies do off road recoveries. Usually at least one in your area will have a trackloader with winch to facilitate recoveries like this. My local guy charges $150+ depending on how quickly you need it recovered. He doubles his charge if you want it out right now but if he can get to you when he isn't busy he is very reasonable. Also if you call him direct versus calling the tow company he tows for he gives you a better price.

I found my local guy on youtube who posts videos of some of his more challenging offroad recoveries.

I have done same ( and worse ). Too often. It means your having a go ! I agree with 2manyrocks that drying out is your best friend. I would have lifted & put logs under the brush hog before disconnect. I have dragged my brush hog 40 feet from dry land as they do skid really well. I have used house jacks to get my tractors up, then railway sleepers under to keep from sinking further. All until conditions improve.

Little late to the game as it were. Been where you are and done that.

Thankfully, on the Kubota L4600, I have been able to use the bucket to back out. The biggest issue I have is loading up the tires to generally replicate a balloon so there is no traction. If the back tires start to sink, I generally catch it early and STOP! Rotary cutter (Bush Hog) weight makes things a lot worse in conditions like this.

You would be a nice neighbor to have, but I would not ask someone to take the chance of getting thorns in their tires. I am about 2 hours away from you. Redwater, Texas. A feller I have known for years is sending two of his hands out, this mornin, to pull me out. They will have a Bobcat.
As fer as my neighbors...no tractors. The two who might, are out of town at this time. In the 47 years that I have lived here my neighbors have changed in every way. The old farm land has been turned into lots and become housing developments. City folks live all around me. My kids will probly do that with my lil-ole 20 acre spot some day soon. I thank it is called "Progress?".
Mule,
Seeing as you've told us where you live, it's obvious you have no objections to fellow members knowing. It would be helpful to curious people like me if you listed your approximate location and your tractor under your name to the left. With a problem like yours among my first thoughts are what part of the country has enough rain to get him stuck at this time of year, is he in sand that will drain quickly or slick slippery clay, things like that. If you were near enough there is also the possibility that I might go over and try to help.
I hope you're already unstuck and admire you for fighting back against your health problems.

Now something helpful. Chain to the bucket curled down then curl to inch forward. Come along can be use as well, the hydraulics are way stronger than me. In you case you will want someone to do the rigging until it is out. I'm lucky my kid lives here....

A chain shortener, double grab hooks on short chain comes in real handy about then as well.
Agree with exploring this approach...neighbor got his old Massey-Ferguson stuck at the bottom of a hill, where the soft mud and slick grass live. He slowly worked it out using the bucket to raise the front out of the ruts and curl forward.

Having a general location also helps when people like myself wonder if we are close enough to help pull someone out.

I get listing a general "East Texas" or "Central Oklahoma" location to cut down on scammers' information gathering. If you need to know where I live more precisely, shoot me a PM!
