In general, a clawback is the recovery of money already distributed.

I once knew a highly placed person involved with a major charity.
Over some 'back yard drinks' I became aware of the fees that some of those 'names' get to 'sponsor' charities.
Frankly, it was sickening!

Some world famous charities have branches in every state/province all of which pay big $$'s to staff simply to have names.

One web site had breakdowns that showed % of donations that actually get used to help the needy or the causes.
It was shameful to say the least.

Peeps are entirely missing the fundamental endgame scenarios of this action...IMO...
Good or bad...Fundamentally the NRA is not going anywhere...The action is a fantasy of a nyag who has visions of grandeur who could very well end up a victim for playing the puppet...

Under the current US judicial system anything can happen...Even with all new leadership the fundamental organization would just be reorganized...(something that's probably been needed for quite a while)...
...The most valuable asset other than it's members and donors are the lobbyists and their associates that are as entwined as any other interest when it comes to having powerful influence in DC...some of these talents may be lost to upstarts but the core will remain...
If in the aftermath of this action the organization becomes more transparent it will only renew trust in the questioning members and donors and induce more power into their lobbying efforts...

FWIW...I am not a member of the NRA or any other foundation/ rights group etc...never have been...

All I know is, after 20 years I quit and joined GOA then the NRA started pandering me to rejoin, offering me some cheap Chinese junk as a 'favor of my attention'. That went in the roundfile.

I don't do cheap Chinese trinkets. GOA offers nothing but representation which, is exactly what I want.

I wish Wayne and crew all the luck in the world but, the bottom line (with me) is they have embezzled from the NRA for decades to support their lavish lifestyle and I'm not paying for it any more.

You all can do what you want to. I already know what I'll do, and did.

I dont think the WLP is any Boy Scout, but in my humble opinion, they have no case to shut down the organization. It is made up of millions of donors. At best, it is a purely political, seeking a guilty verdict that she knows no judge or jury would consider. At worst, it is a partisan use of legal power to advance a partisan agenda and silence an effective conservative opponent.
Lets put it this way, the leftist Sierra Club is probably no less corrupt, but she would not dare investigate or go after them.

I have given a considerable amount to the NRA in the past and am an Endowment Membet.

I stopped contributing about 8 years ago and will not do so until the current leadership and BOD is replaced. Let them fry in ****.

According to all of the emails and literature I've gotten from them in the past year or so, they are circling the drain and going down if I don't open my wallet immediately. Whether I agree with them or not however, you will have a hard time convincing me that this wasn't politically driven, or that it's sheer coincidence that this is happening in an election year.

I just came home and found yet another call from them on my caller ID... apparently they haven't figured out yet that my dues every three years are all they will get from me.
