Spring is here and it is time to get off the pot and pull the trigger a on tractor. I have managed to get lots of information
from this group and different sources on the grey market Yanmars.
One thing I have not seen is a listing of the number of
forward/reverse gears and the ground speeds for each. I know that some (maybe all) have the creeper gear. If someone could tell me where to find the specs that would be helpful. For instance if I could compare the forward/reverse speeds of the YM2000 to the YM2010 and the YM2500
to the YM2610 that would be great.

It may be as simple as: all gear drives have x forward/y reverse speeds and all powershift tractors have z forward/? reverse speeds.

Thanks

I doubt that such a listing exists on gray market tractors.

If your lucky, maybe you can find one that still has the decals on the fender that tells you how many KPH each gear is rated for. Then you can convert it.

If anyone has the relevent operators manuals, the speeds are listed in them. Maybe this will help you find the answers you are looking for.

My ym169(1401) manual says at 2600rpm
1st .67 mph
2nd 1.13 mph
3rd 1.65 mph
4th 3.37 mph
5th 5.73 mph
Tops out at an eyewatering speed of 8.63 mph in 6th gear. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Mark and all. Thank you for your input that is helpful. So your tractor has 6 forward and ? reverse gears? I guess the bottom line question I have is does the powershift give you more, or less, or the same number of speeds to choose from.

Powershift, generally, has 3 ranges & 3 forward speeds and 1 reverse per range for 9 forward speeds & 3 reverse. To use the range selector, the clutch must be used. To shift within a range just move the gear selector without using the clutch. It can be shifted into reverse within the range without using the clutch. Nice for loader work, but I very seldom go from forward to reverse without using the clutch. Powershifts seem to be as bullet proof as the standard shift xmissions.

My 2310D has 15 forward speeds and 5 reverse. It is a power shift, This includes a creeper gear.

After much reading I've located and bought my first tractor, a Yanmar 2310D
The person I saw when picking it up knew very little about it's operation
I've ordered the manual from Hoeytractors which is coming from the USA ... we are in Australia
Meanwhile I want to have a play
My question is could someone please tell me the various positions of the range selector, and what is this `creeper' gear

I believe this is it. Yanmar Tractor Parts: TRANS SHIFT PATTERN DECAL_ The creep gear is the gear you use when putting your tractor in the barn and at the same time watching the seasons change. :D
Congratulations on your new to you tractor and welcome aboard. :welcome:
