Buy a kid one of those box store go carts they have today and he will miss 75 % of the fun and excitement ours brought us.
To name a few & all are priceless.
1*The thrill of watching it progress as different phase of the construction progressed.
2*The anticipation of seeing the finished product and making that first test run and the anxiety of wondering if it would work.
3* It felt like that day would never get here.
This taught me patience but makes it hard for me to under the impatience of some who posted on the other thread.
4*The thrill of the first drive and the elation that it ran fine.
5*The searing satisfaction of success
6*The pride of knowing you successfully created something nobody in the community had ever accomplished.
7*You had something no other kid ever had.
8*The admiration of your peers and the fun of sharing it with them by taking them rides on it.

I have a friend who lives in Florida: How did that friendship develop?
He was on of the neighborhood kids that was fascinated by this go cart.

i agree with all of those reasons - ive also made go-carts but as most of our land is a huge hill mine was without an engine
there arent so many people near me so i didnt really gain the admiration of many people /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
