NX4510 high gear question

I have a 2016 NX4510 and have never used the high gear. Daughter and SIL are building a house near us so went over to help with tree removal. Driving there i put in high gear for first time. It will only go to around 2K or 2.1K rpm and then if throttle is pressed any further it bogs down like its going to die (straight and level road). Back off on the throttle and takes off again but only to 2 or 2.1K rpm. Normal or something going on? Medium gear will run full RPM..?????

I have the same tractor. My experience is similar. I think high gear is too tall in my opinion.

It seems like these are all hydrostatic transmissioned tractors.
What is the full rpm of these engine 25-2600 rpm.
I'm going to assume that you have a hand throttle in addition to your "linked" pedal,
go to full wide open throttle with your hand throttle the engine should run up to it's max governed rpm,
now start driving it in high range using you foot pedal to vary your transmission,
you should be able to vary your forward speed with your foot feed leaving the hand throttle at full.
You should be able to vary the engine rpm by using more speed pedal and pulling the rpm down to what ever amount you desire
for the maximum forward speed your tractor can attain.

Good Idea. I run linked petal 95% of the time so next time will give that a shot.

So finally got to try this theory out as LouNY said..I did turn the linked pedal off but full throttle, hi gear and was able to put pedal to the medal with no hickups..
