As others have said, just push the dealer to get on this ASAP. Keep in mind that the dealer is paid to make factory warranty repairs, so they really shouldn't be all that hesitant to rectify. The best approach is to view all such things as a "we're going to resolve this TOGETHER" situation. I think that in some instances people play the combative card too early: save those cards in case needed later on when they'd really be needed.
I just chastised a shock manufacturer for making me pay shipping costs for replacement of a brand new shock (never mind my additional costs for mounting hardware -single use- and my TIME). I paid for THEIR crappy QA. And from now on I'll go about testing BEFORE I install: I was fortunate in that it wasn't a strut!
