Well that's a lot "heftier" strap than I envisioned in my first reply. I think you'll be ok (x4)! Just protect it from dragging in the dirt, and on the tractor end, from any possible cutting action.

I did not describe it very well in the first posting so I understand, my fault on that.

I got a twisted clevis that should work for a chain attachment.

Very well put, took the words right off my keyboard. I pulled a hopelesly stuck semi-truck once fully loaded (about 45 tons) with a D6 using a 6" nylon tow strap. I pulled hard enough to break the strap and all it did was create a lot of dust as it fell down to the ground. Had that been a chain: the truck probably wouldn't have a radiator or engine block left and I wouldn't be typing right now. At this particular job, if we (employees) were caught using a chain; fired on the spot! On another note: me and dad were pulling tree stumps out with a 3/8" chain, dad was taking runs at it jerking it, and faster than a blink of an eye, the chain broke, shot right past my face, punctured the rear tire and flattened it, instantly! I do not own any chains on my property or businesses, only straps. They're inexpensive and last a reasonably long time.
