Odd auto key problem

In our situation the spare key was made at Home Depot. I have never seen the machine that scans it for a chip.But guess there is some way they tell.

lotsa locksmiths will cut a key and clone a chip for 20-25$.. the one in my local town does..

not sure if one of my car issues will help. My kia van has chip in key. I found that if the key is turned 6 times and it doent have right chip or missing then the car computer will erase disabling the car completely! It would require a tow to dealer and then reprogramming of ALL the keys we have for it costing over 200 bucks.

cloning machines will auto detect the chip.. etc.
