Here's an odd one. The right light on my PT425 died almost immediately upon arrival. I called PT and they sent a replacement bulb and holder. I just replaced the bulb and it's worked since although I doubt I've put two hours total on it.

Soon after the right light died, the left followed suit; in fact I hadn't even gotten around to replacing the right bulb.

Today I decided I'd replace the left and went out and bought a replacement bulb at TSC. When I popped out the bad left bulb I saw that the wire had popped loose rather than the bulb going bad. Turned out the wire had to be stretched tight as a piano wire to reach so I figured I'd just swap out the holder with the one PT had sent since it had about six inches of wire which would give me plenty of slack.

When I tried to take off the left holder I found out PT had used a metric (12mm) nut and bolt even though the bolt/nut for the right hand side light was English. This seemed so screwy I checked repeatedly - right English, left metric.

I realize this isn't particularly important (or interesting) but it struck me as mighty odd. Has anyone found other instances of metric HW on the PTs?

My right light on my 422 failed almost immediately too.. I thought must be loose wire.. but I rarely use my PT at night so have yet to investigate.

The Kohler is a mix, but I haven't found anything that I am sure is metric on the PT itself. However, a metric socket did fit the wheel hub nuts better than the equivalent SAE. I put that down to manufacturing slop in the HF sockets.

Maybe I was wrong.
