Hi all
Have a bathroom sink and replaced the faucet set. Couldn't fix old one because couldn't find parts to fix leak. After new installation the water from that sink
had a smell to it, the other sinks ok. It sort of has that rotten egg smell that , i believe, might be sulfur smell as in some well water . I have city water.
It's only on hot side. Ah, must be in water heater. But only one one hot water faucet smells. what can i do?
My tank has an anodizing rod. Tank comes with a lifetime warranty. They caution owner to replace rod every 5 years or void warranty. The tank is German.
Most plumbers don't know much about it. plumber supply houses don't carry part. Installer doesn't handle tank anymore and he left me high and dry.
I found it on line for $60 and freight, and its a German replacement. I flushed the tank and changed the rod. The smell immediately almost disappeared.
Now it's creeping back, but not near as bad as before. Keeping in mind that no other sink or tub smells, could it be some kind crummy metal in my
new "name brand" faucet.
Any ideas out there?? Cheers.....Coffeeman
