I'm close to attempting a factory 3rd function kit install on a Kubota. This may be a stupid question, but is it necessary to drain the hydraulic fluid when installing?

I think not on draining oil. On my M7040 the 3rd valve just sandwiches to existing valves

The reason I ask is step two in the instructions. I just wasn't sure if I'm draining the whole system or what...

I'm sure Kubota stated in the installation instructions to drain the oil for a reason which is probably to connect tank line to new valve
