Hi guys, I would like to thank all of you for your support. It has meant a lot to me. I have been getting cards from a lot of people and so far I have received cards from David's mom, FWJ and the Texas guys (one of these days I hope I can make it down there for one of your gatherings).

The weather up here is just now starting to cool off but still no snow so I am able to walk outside still without much trouble. Yesterday I walked to the deer pen and visited some of the critters. They are a little nervous because of how slow I move now but Sherry came right over to see how I was doing

I get a little sore from taking walks but overall I don't have very much pain and I feel like I am getting stronger everyday. I keep trying to do as much as I can by myself and if need be I feel I can do everything on my own now but some things are much harder then others. One of the hardest things is putting socks on but I can do it. The only thing I can't do on my own is wash my back so I have to have help taking showers

Well hi there Robert,

Glad the sudden stop at the end of your trip off the roof didn't do more damage, although it sounds like you've got enough "to be going on with" damage to the body to slow ya up for awhile.

I'll give no long winded admonishments to be carefull, and not push the healing process by doing the he-man "I don't need no stinking help"...oops almost did a lecture on rehab don'ts..

Just as long as your helper looks good and doesn't have a voice any deeper than yours, and you are good to go!

Glad to hear you got the card.

Maybe if you can't make it to our next get together, you guys will have one that we can come and meet all of you!! Steph is talking about heading that way for vacation in the next year or two and while she thinks NY City is something to see, I think the countryside would be allot more interesting!!

Nice to hear you are doing better and it's just a matter of time until you are healed. Not only is this a life lesson to you, it's a real eye opener to me as well. I spend too much time on roofs and ladders, and know how easy it is to push it just a little too far trying to finish up a job, or go a little faster then safety allows.

You and Steph are more then welcome to stop in here if you find your way up. I know you will enjoy seeing and playing with the deer. Mid summer is a great time because of the fawns.

I am on the complete opposite side of New York from the city and have never been there yet but some day I think it will be fun to go just to see what it is like. It has been a long time since I have been to Texas. That was a great trip as we drove from New York to Arizona. The thing I remember most was how different the soil was as we moved from state to state.
