Offset tiller - how?

I can see how the lift arms can be offset but not the top link. It shouldn't swing that far sideways should it? What am I missing? Seems like this might be worth $800 but haven't yet seen it hands on. Not sure about parts either. Anybody know the brand of this - I can't find "General" anywhere.

I don't think that is an offset tiller. On the ones that I am familiar with the gearbox is designed to move side to side with the center top link connection point. The adjustment on the lift arm connection is to adjust for different width and should be kept equidistant from the center-line of the gearbox.

I have a Kuhn that offsets by 5 or 6" to one side (don't remember which) The gear box stays where it is and the 3pt mounting bracket has to be bolted up in a different position. In the case of your tiler it seems that the top link would be off to one side as well. Remember the key is to stay within 4-6" and I think you should be fine. In the case of the tillers where the gear box slides on the drive shaft the offset can be much more as the PTO shaft angle remains the same regardless of the tiller's position to one side the other.

edit: in the picture the tiller is offset you can see the lower link connections are off to one side

Ive seen more than one custom offset toplink. a non-adjustable chunk-o-steel with a bend at each end.
