Re: \"Oh the weather outside...\"

Looks like you may have to remove the blade to stack it up. I'm still hoping we get that much, thats what winters all about. it would be boring if it only just got cold.

Re: \"Oh the weather outside..rain.\"

Water over my mailbox, water over my driveway, Haywagon is caught up in the treetops waiting to take out my bridge, water over the bridge, which is normally 70 ft. over the water.

On the bright side I was able to get to the other side of the farm. Went through the hills about 1 mile and finally found a place to cross the creek. Got bro inlaw to pick me up at the highway. Drove around to barn, and put out some hay. Drug off two dead calves from the freezing rain. Watch a cow have a calf thought about knocking it in the head to keep it from suffering freezing, put cow and calf in barn with a tub of water, don't know when I'll be back. Started home tree fell across road. Walked 2 miles borrowed a chainsaw. Had to drive through water to get to the place to walk the mile back through the woods. Did I mention that it rained the whole time.No end until tues. Boy when it rains it pours /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Wife and boys, safe and warm and happy to seee Daddy /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Nice to have them to put things into perspective. Good luck with the snow. ten miles north of here they are having ice. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Re: \"Oh the weather outside...\"

JDGREEN4ME,
Here in the Shenandoah Valley of VA we have 24 inches on the ground as of 6:00P.M. and they say we may get another 12 inches before it finally wines down sometime tomorrow afternoon. I have already been out three times today moving snow with the B-7500 and the back blade. I have been trying to stay ahead of it but it looks as though mother nature may overtake me tonight /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif But tomorrrow is another day and if I can find someplace to put the snow I think we may be able to see town by Tuesday. Be safe and enjoy the seat time, trust me if the storm keeps up like it is here you will have plenty /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Re: \"Oh the weather outside...\"

I just flipped the floodlight on and looked out at the driveway. We picked up about another 3 or so inches since the youngster and I were out playing with the tractors a couple hours ago. When we started out, the accumulation was around 6 to 8 inches. Forecast says the worst (best?) is yet to come. Heavy snow is forecast for overnight, with winds picking up tomorrow.

#3 Son (at 18, the last of 3 at home) and I had the tractors out pushing / pulling / piling the white fluffy stuff. Temps here have been in the low teens all day, and it made the snow fluffier than what we normally see. Wifey said the local weatherguy thought it would take 18" of the snow we're getting to equal an inch of water.

We did our driveway and a BIL's which are both 300 footers with parking at the top. Also caught a couple shorter ones for nearby neighbors. I even "organized" a few things in the garage so I could keep the rear blade on the Kubota.

Some snow was deep enough that I had to either spin the rear blade 180° and go backwards, or use the FEL.

I was watching Junior on the Ford 1210 (ag tires) and he seemed to be getting a little better bite than I was with the R4's on my B7500. The skinny R1's look like they cut through the snow, where the wide R4's want to "float" sometimes when dragging a big pile, and need to spin a little snow out of the way before they bite. Both setups were handling the work OK, and neither has chains.

We're about an hour and a half West of JDGREEN4ME, near Lancaster...............chim

Re: \"Oh the weather outside...\"

About an hour & a half south west in MD we got 22" by early this evening with another 8-12" predicted. I spent 6 hours hours on IGGY and my wife even put in an hour when I came in for a break to thaw out. We did the entire neighborhood: only three houses, but more than a half mile of roadway in total. I got started after we had a foot on the ground and made several passes. I'm starting to wish I got a plow. At least my wife no longer thinks the tractor is too big. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Re: \"Oh the weather outside...\"

You guys are making me sick. I am so jealous of you all right now. The moon is full, I see the grass poking through what snow we have. Boomer just sits in the garage.

Re: \"Oh the weather outside...\"

Attached is a picture of the north side of our cabin. It is pretty typical of the snowfall we get. Since we are not there to plow after each storm, we have to hire the services of a snow removal sevice. They have some very slick equipment. Rat...
