One question, how would you get your chain into the horiziontal tube? I thought posts on the loader upright were to small for your chain. Or did I miss what you are going to use it for. Wouldnt be the first time /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

notamustang, The "post" boxes were too small so I took a piece of 3"pvc and slid it in the hole in the loader it just fit. I locked it in my vice and tried putting the chain into the Horizontal pipe. It wasn't hard at all with a piece of broom handle or shovel handle to help. it's not going to be coming out that often. I just want to have a chain with me in case. here are two pics of the PVC. The eye hook is to pull off the cap as PVC tends to bind.

Loose the chain. A 1/4" grade 70 chain is all you need for a compact tractor. I carry three on my M6900 and have not broken one yet. A 1/4" Grade 70 chain is about as strong as a proof 4/8" chain, and much easier to handle.

The cahin box idea works well enough to mount several.
