Do they still put that purple dye in Amsoil?

Just my $0.02, I'd get a block heater installed and leave the dino or break in oil until 50 hours. IMO, that is a critical break in period for the engine and I wouldn't go synthetic until that 50h mark is hit. Again, just my 2 cents!:)

You confirmed my initial position on this issue..........leave the dino in for the 1st 50 hours. My machine came with a block heater. But, it is stored about 200' from the nearest power source. Mmmmmmmm......if I only bought a BH with it. I coulda buried some UF romex and have juice in the shed.

In the Amsoil diesel oil products that I run I do not see a dye.

I can't find Rotella 10W-30 anywhere - my TSC only stocks 15W-30/40. Can someone point me in the right direction as I'm obviously looking in the wrong spots.

It IS made...but I sure cant find it anywhere for sale?? Thats one reason I went with the Rotella 5W-40 SYN oil...at least its AVAILABLE!!! Its more $$...but with my low hrs of usage...it wont matter.

I'm coming up on my 50hr maintenance on my B7610, and I am going to use the new Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel Truck 5W-40, or Delvac 1 5W-40 which ever is cheaper. According to Mobil it is the exact same formula. I will use OEM filters too.

Gebos which is like Tractor supply carries the 10-30 Rotella. I know Gebos is a Texas based store with very few stores but there maybe another source in your area that might be of some help.

I had the same problem as I could not find diesel rated 10W-30. I called other tractor dealers and found that a local New Holland dealer carries two different kinds of 10W-30 and they come in sizes from a quart to a 5 gallon bucket. Now my Kubota dealer carries Kubota and Rotella 10W-30 but only in quart bottles only but I still buy the NH oil.
I believe that the NH Ambra Mastergold brand is what Messick Farm Equipment (frequent poster in the Kubota forum) recommends for Kubota tractors.
