Oil & Fuel Oil and fluids - maintenance for 1301D

Hello all. I'm new here

I have a 1301D and the gentleman I purchased it from no longer sells or maintains tractors.

It's due for an oil change but I'm not sure what kind of motor oil I should get or how much it needs.

Also not sure about the other fluids/items I should be checking out. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome:thumbsup:.. Use any diesel rated oil. Don't know how much your mod will take.. Hyd fluid should meet JD 303 specs

Fluid & Oil Types I would put in about 3 quarts and start checking the dipstick. Once you get it in filter and correct level you will know next time what the capacity is.

If you go for a transmission fluid change be sure and pull and clean the metal strainer located behind a triangular flange low on the transmission. I don't know just where it is on the 1301. Maybe somebody out there knows and will respond.
