Oil Capacity for a BX2200

After reading other posts on this subject I confirmed that my BX holds just under 4 quarts including filter!!. I personally would NOT put 5w 30 non diesel rated oil in. )</font>

I just switched from Redline to Chevron. I went gung ho on the first oil change and now realize oil schmoil, get what the manual recommends and save the money. The value of synthetics is not in question, my climates just so mild that I don't think it's quite as beneficial from a cold weather perspective. Is 45 to 50 degrees cold to you for a winter average?
