Oil filter replacement

/ Oil filter replacement #21
Imo fram should never be a used fillter on anything plan to keep. That said, my reason for this is. Late 80's early 90's gm had bulletins not to use them on gm car's and trucks. The bulletin stated that the filler was to restive at cold start up. Causing the fillter bypass to open letting unfiltered oil to the bearings. Was causing bearing failures.

Newer filter problem for the duramax we have found is the plastic cased fuel fillters sold at napa and few other places. They are cheaper than the gm unit. But don't have the same amount of internal filter surface, or fillter the right micron size. Causing them to plug faster. And have gotten to replace few injectors do them letting trash into injector. Idk how much cost filter was, but surely not worth cost of injector.

I run what unit calls for. I hate tearing down my own crape just to save a buck. But love when people pay me fix trying save buck.
