Oil/Gas Well Help

   / Oil/Gas Well Help #21
OK, here's the deal. Coming out of the well head is a line that is going to run to your house. As it comes out of the well head it goes through a valve called a "Little Joe". This reduces the pressure from what ever the well head pressure is to about twenty pounds. There is also a "Drip" connected here. All that is, is a tank to collect fluids and it can be drained every once in a while depending on how much fluid your well makes. Now the gas is heading towards the house. When it gets to the house there is another valve called a "pancake" valve and it reduces the pressure to around 6 to 7 ounces. This is the pressure that your appliances will run on. There is also a "Drip" tank at the house. Your line is already in, but if you were starting from scratch just make sure you bury the line from the well head to the house three feet deep to get below the frost line here in N.E. Ohio and you will have no freezing problems. One other thing,, different parts of Ohio have different types of gas wells. If you have a "Rabbit" well it is primarily a gas well with not much fluid. If your well has a "Jack Pump" then it produces a lot more oil and fluids. A "Jack Pump" is one of those wells you see out in the fields with the arm going up and down. You can also tell by the number and size of the tanks by the well. They are there to collect the fluids. ( oil and brine). No expert by a long shot, but hope this helps. RRM
