ok i know i have asked a lot of questions, but how else can i learn. this may be a little vague so if i need to give more info let me know. i have a oil leak?? i suspect it might be hydraulic but i'm not sure. first of i own a lb1914 i bought used. but i had serviced at a kioti dealer. they changed all fluids and serviced.
the tractor has 500hrs on it. the leak appears right at the back of the engine it appears there is a seal between the motor and the transmission . when i lower the bucket and lift front wheels off the ground, and leave the tractor parked with time the front will lower and the leak is worse.
do i need to be very concerned?
do i have to pull the whole thing apart?
or is there another possibilty?
thanks for any and all help.

this may be a really dumb question. when i put the bucket is all the way down and the 3 pth down i don't have a leak.
so it appears the leak is hydraulic right at the engine-transmission seal. should i be concerned or not??

I'd say yes, you should be concerened enough to get it fixed if the fluid is actually coming out from the seal. From your first post, it appears that you mean that things just leak down as in raising the tractor up with the loader and then letting it sit, coming back to find it down, is not unusual, but finding leaking fluid is.

500 hours is not very much, but a seal could have been bad for any number of reasons, one major one being how the tractor was used/abused before you got your hands on it.

Leaks can go on for a long time before they are a major problem, and often folks just keep adding back to keep the levels up, but of course this is not a fix, and costs in more ways than one. For now, if you need to, just make sure the level is correct and don't let it get too low (below the lowest mark on the stick) and operate it as you don't want to damage the pump.

Otherwise, you can run it, but I'd get it repaired asap.
